As I turn 30 this week, I thought I would share 30 life lessons I’ve learned along the way. One thing I know for sure is that growth never stops, and neither does the journey of figuring it all out. But these are the lessons that have shaped me the most—hopefully, a few of them will resonate with you too.
- You are the creator of your life. Act like it.
- Take the risk—otherwise, life will pass you by.
- There’s never a “right” time. Just start.
- Your thoughts create your reality—pay attention to them.
- If they wanted to, they would. Don’t force anything—you’re worth more.
- What’s meant for you will always find you.
- Boundaries are everything. Protect your peace.
- Never underestimate the power of changing your environment.
- Mistakes mean you’re trying, failing means you’re growing—keep going.
- Happiness is now, not “when.” Stop waiting for it.
- No one is thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are. Let that free you.
- Keep your standards high. Don’t settle just because something is available.
- Learn to love being alone. It’s the greatest gift you’ll ever give yourself.
- Remove yourself from toxic people and situations. Your energy is precious.
- Hold your friends close. As you get older, it’ll become harder to find the time to see each other.
- Health is wealth. Take care of your body—it’s the only one you’ve got.
- Don’t work more than you live—seriously.
- Quit the job, change careers, start the business!
- Travel as much as you can. It changes you.
- Listen to your gut. It knows more than your mind ever will.
- Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.
- Sometimes, moving your body is all you need to shift your mindset.
- Everything falling apart usually means something better is coming. Trust it.
- It’s not normal to be exhausted all the time. Burnout isn’t a badge of honour.
- Don’t take advice from people you wouldn’t trade places with.
- People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Let go when it’s time.
- Invest in yourself. You are your greatest project.
- A clear calendar is often better than a full one.
- Jealousy is a waste of time and energy.
- The best years of your life are happening right now—don’t miss them.
